Our second year at Déco Off marked the global launch of our Saluté collection – a pivotal turning point in Gainsborough’s collection offering. A collection of seven archival designs in 25 contemporary, usable colourways, Saluté reveals Gainsborough at its most sumptuous and beautiful.

In setting out to create this most special of collections, the Design team imagined where Saluté would go but also took a step back to refocus on what identifies truly successful fabrics; an uncompromising curation of some of Gainsborough’s finest archival pieces followed, resulting in a collection of fabrics whose handle and drape are as pleasing to the senses as their design and colour.

Based at the Galerie Les Yeux Fertiles on the Rue de Seine in the heart of Paris, Gainsborough built a popup showroom, with Saluté decking the walls to stunning effect. Collier Webb furniture pieces complemented the swathes of sumptuous silk beautifully, together exuding a sense of luxury worthy of the RMS Titanic’s First Class Dining Saloon, where the Saluté fabric had first come to wider attention.

Déco Off represented a fantastic and joyous opportunity for the Gainsborough team to meet with long-standing clients, meet new admirers and receive that all-important, overwhelmingly positive feedback from agents and distributors. The two gorgeous Rene chairs upholstered in Titanic Green St George and Chevron, and the Ramsey Bench in Anthracite Salix, all courtesy of Collier Webb, are now on display at their showroom on Pimlico Road, London.
