Les Yeux Fertiles Gallery, 27 Rue de Seine 75006 Paris
Established in 1903 in Sudbury, Suffolk (the centre of the British silk industry) Gainsborough is amongst Britain’s last remaining silk weaving houses. Its founder, Reginald Warner, travelled widely in Europe collecting historic fabrics and laying the foundation of an archive which today is one of the UK’s leading textile libraries.
Alongside the historic swatches, every fabric that Gainsborough has ever woven is also sampled and minutely detailed within the design archive, creating an extraordinary resource that countless designers have drawn on for both interiors and fashion.
