As another year draws to a close, we reflect on the successes of 2023 and look forward to the promise of the new year.
The National Portrait Gallery:
The reopening in June of the National Portrait Gallery was a definite highlight in the Gainsborough calendar. Specially suited to the purpose, Wool Camlet has been fitted throughout the galleries including the new Blavatnik Wing encompassing nine elegantly refurbished rooms. Gainsborough’s cloth provides the backdrop for some of the world’s greatest masterpieces spanning across six centuries. The results are outstanding and we highly recommend a visit!
To celebrate the reopening, The National Portrait Gallery issued ‘Enfilade’ – a charming collection of cushions and throws created by Fabric Works using Gainsborough’s Wool Camlet. Available to purchase in store or online, these winter warmers certainly feature on our season’s wish list!
