Gainsborough and Heritage Trimmings are proud to have played a role in the Royal Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, having contributed to the reupholstery of the Throne Chairs which formed the centrepiece of this historic ceremony.
Utilising their traditional in-house capabilities, Gainsborough were commissioned to dye the crimson and gold silk yarn which was then used by Heritage Trimmings to create the sumptuous braid and trellis fringe which adorn the chairs. These exact replicas of the original seventeenth century designs provide a final decorative flourish.
Heritage Trimmings also crafted bespoke braids and tufts for the interior of the iconic Gold State Coach used in the ceremonial Procession.
